2025 BUICK ENCLAVE GETS LONGER, WIDER; ADDS SUPER CRUISE HANDS-FREE TECH
Buick refreshed the three-row Enclave for 2025. The taller, wider and longer Enclave is now available with hands-free Super Cruise and comes standard with a 30-inch full-color diagonal widescreen. Like the smaller Envision SUV, the Buick changed the Enclave's trims to include Preferred, Sport Touring and Avenir. It loses the six-cylinder engine for efficiency and in place is a new turbocharged engine that delivers more power and better gas mileage.
Visually, the 2025 Enclave offers a different grille for each trim along with new front and rear fascias. Buick says it follows the company's philosophy of pure design, unexpected details and refined finishes. Also like the rest of the lineup, the Enclave uses styling created for the Wildcat EV concept in 2022, which has informed every company redesign since.
The standard LED lights have the same concept checkmark shape while the new-style three-dimensional Buick badge is mounted on the hood. As expected, both the front and rear LEDs display a welcome sequence when a driver approaches.
Other new standard features include 126-color ambient lighting, an automatic power liftgate (no kicking necessary), 20-inch wheels and a Bose sound system.
The new middle ST trim is tuned the same as the Preferred model, both in power and handling, but comes with sporty accents like a flat-bottom steering wheel, gloss black trim, special wheels and badges. Buick says it is trying to court younger buyers with the new ST trim.
The Avenir trim bumps the wheels to 22 inches and includes the company's adaptive suspension. The top trim also comes with ventilated seats with massaging feature, panoramic sunroof, a head-up display and a few other options.
All Enclaves now come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 328 horsepower (hp) and 326 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque, and a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. All trims will be offered in either front- or all-wheel drive and it has a maximum towing capacity (same as last year) of 5,000 pounds.
In addition to the new 30-inch screen with Google Assistant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Enclave has a new floating center console leaving tons of new storage space between the front passengers. The screen in split into a central touchscreen side and a digital driver instrument cluster. Between the two are permanent icons for common features. Wireless charging is also standard. There are several color options for the interior including a blue on the steering wheel and dashboard, along with brown and slate gray.
New safety features blind zone steering assist, intersection automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist and lane departure warning.
The grown-up Enclave, on sale this summer, will continue to compete with the three-row crowd including the Kia Telluride ($36,190), Toyota Highlander ($39,270), Nissan Pathfinder ($36,080) and others. Buick hasn't announced the price yet, but the current Enclave starts at $43,900.
